I disagree with this statement (and also with the rest of the comment). I disagree not because it is wrong, but because it doesn’t work for everyone, like for me.

I worked in this strict formal process, and I find it inefficient and frustrating. Mob fits me much, much more. Also because my colleagues are great as people and also as technicians.

Anyway I think that formal process You describe fits many programmers, maybe majority of us. So if it fits Your teams, go for it.
